Comment at 'No One Knows (I) Post-Representation in Heidegger, Hölderlin, and Wallace Stevens' by Shane Devine

too much effort went into this substack.com comment for a separate post today
Crossposted from substack.com as a post.
“The blessed unity, Being, in the unique sense of the word, has been lost for us, and it was necessary that we should lose it for us to be able to aspire and to conquer it by main force. We detach ourselves from the peaceful ἐν καὶ πᾶν of the world, in order to re-establish it by ourselves. We are divided from nature, and that which, as we can believe, was otherwise united, enters now into conflict, domination and subservience alternately changing sides. Often it seems to us that it is as if the world were everything and we nothing, often also as if we were everything and the world nothing. To finish with this eternal struggle between our self and the world, to restore the peace of all peace that is higher than all reason, to re-unite ourselves with nature in an infinite whole, that is the goal of all our efforts, whether we realize it or not ... This Being, in the unique sense of the word, is already there—as Beauty; to speak with Hyperion, a new kingdom awaits us where beauty is queen.” — Hölderlin, first draft of the preface to Hyperion1 [as quoted at Shane Devine's post No One Knows (I) Post-Representation in Heidegger, Hölderlin, and Wallace Stevens
thank you very very much Shane Devine for this post, from the first quote from Hölderlin this has been a very timely piece, if late for me by some decades (quote’s use of ‘world’), hopefully this will not be to much thanks…
prior art
my own efforts at “post-symbolical” ‘poetry/prose/…’ from the 1980s can be found via meika.loofs-samorzewski.com particularly ‘ad rajer’ in “.before country” and more recently “algorithms for flowers” written in the spirit of a post-symbolic age, unknowingly
art/religion/polity/spirit/morality/… are all worlding outcomes
In terms of ‘metaphysical essences’, I feel the way forward, with a little evolution behind me, that there is a clarity in blurring together art/religion/polity/spirit/morality as worlding.
For all are all efforts in worlding so the ‘death’ of one is simply composted by the ‘others’, proclaiming one, even in its death, a purer form for its own sake, is the view of a romantic looking on a ruin in enjoyment.
art/religion/polity/spirit/morality/… are all worlding outcomes…
if one (e.g. poetry) come and go in popularity/practical use for a society’s efforts, as every dog has its day, what is ruination for one is the symbol of the next success, metaphysics applies to itself in application, thus it folds in, it gastrulates, like any effort, any value. (the mill is grist for itself)(the cave is the flesh of ourselves). See platotectonics.

worlding is the selfing we do among others doing the same, call it ‘spirit’ if you will, but the world does not care, the world goes on, with or without empires and their ruins,
if some process ends an effort (e.g. end of art or poetry or religion or X), the values are simply folded back into worlding,
this is because the drive, or urge, or bias to make an effort (I used to call it the ‘moral urge’ when I began this journey only a couple of years ago), ‘makes’ us should the world into our lives, each and every as all —as it should be— this is why when there is some philosopher saying some outcome is another outcome (art is moral) seems both clever and yet not quite enough, as if it misses something, perhaps the entire world (I would argue).
the urge makes us make -- poetry never goes away, even when it is mute, for our meetings make us human, and in evolution that predates and thus ‘platforms’ an outcome like poetry, or religion… all this in the arena, the noyau, the lek where we world the self among others, the same same but different…
art/religion/polity/spirit/morality/… are all worlding outcomes
Saying one outcome is another outcome misses what they are both and all are outcomes of (e.g. art is morality), the metaphor is thus a misrepresentation of process (this is how ontologically-biased folk ‘misrepresent’ their representations, their efforts misguide them into reality)
Even when they are axiologically correct. Weirdly.
but then ‘metaphor, etymologically, arose in legal terminology, which these days in English we would call ‘alienation’ of title when a property is transferred to another,
making a farce of any logical ‘identity’
or ruin
the world worlds on regardless.
topics-and-projects —> [taphonomy-of-worlding] thus values are an effort not a coin (substack.com version)
My writing on alignment, a sub-project of the taphonomy of worlding, is now at part 6, and while I was going to publish about causality next, I decided to get back to the first notes on alignment I wrote a couple of months ago, while travelling across Canada.
Also my use of the term ‘blur’ is suported by the explorations listed at posts on the blur. Also for arena/lek/noyaux see figuring-out-the-grounds-beneath-the-world-noyau-lek-and-home.
